Explorer AT GPS asset tracking devices work with the GPS Commander cloud-based web tracking portal. The tracking portal includes a wide range of standard features, allowing you to track any combination of assets, all at the same time. Google Maps with satellite view, road view and street view is included, as well as a full 12 months of tracking history. The system includes configurable alerts and fully automated reports. All systems include the web-based GPS Commander dashboard with configurable widgets, as well as a supervisor app that has extensive fleet tracking features as well.

This is a hard-wired GPS asset tracking device that is hard-wired to run from the 12 volt power of the piece of machinery that it is tracking, such as an excavator or other piece of construction equipment. This type of equipment can sit unused for extended periods when not in use, such as in a yard. During times where the equipment is not being used, it should still report location periodically. This device has an integrated long-life battery so that the asset tracker can still function even when not receiving power from its host machine. Once the machinery is started back up and able to supply power, the backup battery is re-charged automatically. The device has the ability to change it’s GPS reporting frequency when active or not active, so for example, it could report location every 30 seconds when active and twice per day when inactive.

Explorer AT SP is a solar powered, self contained asset tracker with an integrated battery that is kept charged by the sun. It is completely self contained, with no wires and thus, very simple to install. Simply screw it down or magnetically attached it. Ideally located out of sight on the top of an asset where it can see the sun, such as a construction trailer or tall piece of equipment, it can operate for years and never even be noticed. The device can last months even in total darkness. However, if located outdoors, it will literally never run out of power. Explorer SP is totally waterproof, with a rugged IP67 enclosure. The unit can communicate with external sensors, using its integrated bluetooth technology, to provide an entire solution that is completely wireless. Door open, temperature and humidity, making ths an excellent cold chain solution.
Application notes:
This is a completely self contained device that encompasses a non-rechargeable, integrated long-life battery. Typically, rechargeable batteries cannot match the longevity of non-rechargeable batteries. This device is designed to last for up to 5 years without any service or charging, at which point, it’s low-cost battery can simply be replaced in the field. This asset tracker is designed for applications where the assets tend to be remote and can stand alone without power for long periods. For example, a remote camp asset, such as a generator, trailer, or other unpowered machine or asset.
